For Mike Benning’s 60th birthday, Mark Del Lima executed on an idea he had brewing for over ten years after geeking out on music on numerous occasions with Mike: a super rare Fischer™ cassette box full of mixtapes from friends.
Here are the “cassettes” that were presented to Mike on Saturday, September 20! I wish I could publish Apple or Spotify playlists, but a lot of the tracks in these playlists are simply “not available on streaming”, and to upload these all to Soundcloud would get me dinged for copyright infringement, so if you want to hear/see the tracks, click on each album cover to access the actual high-bitrate audio files.
Thank you to everyone who contributed! I loved being able to track all of the high bitrate audio files to build the playlists and seeing the musical narratives form; Mike’s community is truly special. Here is a video of the delivery of MUSO60 when we were all in Guerneville.
